Teslin
Our day started driving into the town of Teslin. We stopped at the George Johnston Museum who was a native indian born in the late 1800's. He was known for recording the local history of the people with photography. In 1928 he bought a car and had it brought by ship to Teslin even though there were no roads. Thus he built several miles of road and in winter he could travel on the frozen river for about a 100 miles.

More Mountains
Just about the time we think we are out of the mountains, more appear in the distance and we get to enjoy more.

Whitehorse
Whitehorse is the largest town in the Yukon Territory with a population of about 25,000. This is a monument to the gold miners who came during the gold rush in the late 1800's.

SS Klondike
This paddle-wheeler brought early settlers and gold miners to the Yukon. It's now a museum on dry land.

Grisly Bear
We saw this grisly walking along the side of the road about a 1/2 mile before we stopped at an RV park for the evening. The lady at the campground said she had heard there was a new bear in the neighborhood but hadn't seen him yet. They are supposed to be the meanest of the bear family
