Denali Park

We made our second trip to Denali. This time we brought the RV and camped overnight at the Savage River campground. You can only drive 10 miles into the park. If you want to go further they have bus tours that go up to 98 miles into the park and take most of the day.

Dall Sheep

In addition to the spectacular scenery, the tours usually showcase the various animals that inhabit the park. Of course what you see is mostly luck. Here are several Dall Sheep we saw.

More Mountains

Mt McKinley - which is over 20,000 feet is located in Denali. We haven't seen it yet as it is usually obstructed by clouds. They said it is only "out" 40 days each year.

Caribou

We got lucky and saw two large caribou bucks. This one was putting on a show for us. (did you know that reindeer are actually caribou that have been domesticated?)

Denali

More scenery from Denali.

Moose

We almost missed two moose cows (female). They stayed in the brush but we got a few pictures (at least part of them)
