Coal Ship
While in our camping spot we watched this freighter being loaded with coal that we were told by the tour boat guide was headed for Chili. As we were getting ready to leave Seward, the tug boats started moving it out of the port.

Exit Glacier
Just outside of Seward is Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. To get to the glacier you have to hike over a mile to get to see it up close. It was named exit glacier by early explorers asit provided an exit from the mountains.

On the way to Exit Glacier
We hiked the mile back to see the glacier up close and personal. We noted signs along the way - 1924, 1953, 1998, ect and found out that was where the glacier ended in those years. As we were driving out of the park, we saw more signs dated in the 1800's so it has melted quite a bit over the years.

Waterfall on Exit Glacier
Note the waterfall from the ice and also that it is blue. A sign said the blue color comes from the suns rays.

If you wanted to climb down the rocks you could go out on the glacier as these folks did. (we didn't)
