Jade City

Just south of Boya Lake, we found Jade City. They claim to be one of the largest producers of jade in the world. Outside the shop they had huge saws cutting the jade boulders they had mined. Inside the shop was a large assortment of jade products.

Cassiar HIghway

The Cassiar Highway heads south from the Alaska Highway (just a few miles west of Watson Lake) into the heart of British Columbia. The highway winds through the mountains and provides great scenery.

Bridges

In addition to wildlife, we have a fascination with bridges. Many of the bridges along the Cassiar Highway have wooden planks for flooring. This one has steel grates.

Boo Boo Bear

Today's wildlife sightings include a mountain sheep, a fox and a bear, but they were too fast to get a picture. Finally, we found this bear cub along the way. Don't know where his mother was, but he was very content to have his picture taken.

Bear Snack

Bear Cub munching on a flower. How about a close-up?
